shimano's can not be beaten, a stradic ci4 would last many years if looked after

Is that not a certate in your avatar?

I've only ever had a sol out of those three reels myself. Pretty happy with it...

ci4s weigh stuf all so they're great at $300. We've got 4 stradics (3 old white ones and one new) and the oldest is over 10 years old and it pretty much good as new still, we've looked after them heaps. The small things they think of like a maintenence port make shimano the top brand in my opinion

nope its a daiwa regal 2000 ZA.pretty good but has been playing up recently but thats not too bad(its only really the smoothness that is a bit stiff but over all very underrated reel.
i wrote this thread so i can be confident what i choose when i put the regal down.and yes if i catch some big bream on it i may cremate and keep its ashes
lol

If weight is a factor then maybe the luvi? Then there is also a ci4 as another light weight alternative? All good reels but I would pick the twinpower in a heartbeat.

From memory the Luvias 2000 and Stradic ci4 2500 are exactly the same weight. (200g)

I wouldn't call 30 grams a bees dick.. That can be the difference between a combo feeling balanced or not.

I'd choose a stradic ci4, but then I've owned one and not a Sol, so I can't help but to be bias.
