2010 Certate Problems

Seriously thinking about the 2010 certate but have heard of some problems?? Just asking fir some feedback and inside knowledge. Just don't want to buy a dud, especially when it's got a price tag like that.

Cheers, Pete

I don't own one! But,amongst family & friends plus people they all know I worked out that the 'approx average' of 30 to maybe 40% have had problem's after approx_7 to 8 months."Most have not been worked that hard either + well cared for"
TD Sols are all still going along strong!!! "Tough as old boots"

Rough as old boots too, based on checking them out in the shops a few times. :-/

Note: I accept that they may be fine in use and I'm quite keen to try one properly sooner or later.

Thumbs up

Hey Chamelion

Mine have all been as smooth as a baby's bottoms Handled many good size flatties & snappers also! Not bad for 2000 size reels.Plenty of TLC!!! ( That's the real secret )
I have had a very good run with Shimano's too!

Tight lines & huge fish to you for this,so,called summer

Gae.

Dude if your talking about the new certate you need to delete your post

Blooper,

Ive got 2 of the new certates 2004's. My first one I bought the day it was available in australia, the second one about a month or two ago. The first one feels better than the second one, and the second one has been used twice. The first one has been through 9kg carp, trevally, salmon, bream, flatties, big perch, etc etc etc. I have absolutely given it a workout, and its still as smooth as ever.

I own a megabass racing condition reel, a steez, and a few others close to the price range, and, as I tell my mates, i think the certate wins hands down. It has been flawless.

The drag is one of the sweetest sounding drags ever ( 2004 size), its smooth as all hell, looks good, is sturdy, hard to put a ding in, and just keeps on performing.

I have heard about some problems with them, and have known people who have had problems, however get the reel serviced, say it was not of merchantable quality, get the store or daiwa to fix the problems, and make sure its doing what its supposed to do. if my certates started having problems, id just take them back and tell the blokes to fix it or replace it. No way would I pay 500 bucks for a dodgy reel, when, especially now, I KNOW they are brilliant.

I reckon grab one mate and dont be too scared of the reports you have heard, if there is anything wrong, just take it back and tell the guys to fix it or replace it ( the latter obviously the quicker choice!).

Thats my opinion

Didn't someone on hear have a problem with the anti-reverse? Some gear snapped in it and sent the handle going backwards a million miles an hour with the fish still on

Send it back to Daiwa and in most cases it'll be done under warranty. Unless it's through user fault like you dropped it or something

Really? What went wrong with it and where did you get it from? By the way, isn't your avatar the same pic from samurai tackle?

I must add, i had a play with one in the tackleshop and i was very impressed, feels smoother and more refined than the older model, but I don't think that it is as tough as the old one.

Send it back to daiwa man, the one I felt in the tackleshop was as smooth as the steez next to it IMO.
