Daiwa and drags, 2004, 2506....

I have noticed that some daiwa reels have louder drags than others. For example the new certates...... the 2004 is louder than my 2000, and the 2506 has a loud drag as well. Same with the caldia.

Anyone know why this is so?

Finesse model has finesse drags.
Which means finer tuning, and louder clicks.

you'll find the 2004 and 2506 have a louder click as they are plasic spools.(AIR spool) the metal ones are just not as loud. (i dont think ths was intentional by daiwa-its just how they are)
having said that though the old model shallow spool eg; saltist gekabijin 2004 are almost silent even though they also have a plastic spool. due to a complete different clicher system it the older model.

I'll give you $2 for the combo you were using today whilst we're at it.

If that were the case then why has the Steez got a loud drag.

As above, Steez has a loud drag and has 7kg of drag.
I think the exist does too.

Sorry might be trivial, but I like to hear the drag - who doesn't?
If I was to purchase a 2004 spool - then techically problem solved, correct?

maybe the Steez and Exists have the 2500 RCS Air Spool and finesse drag, being the same reel and being the top flight daiwa.

This is the front of the Exist
