Blades - What Weight?

Gday,

Im planning on adding a few Blades to the tackle box for Bream this season but am wondering what weight is best to use? The spot i fish is 4metres deep max with very minimal water movement and minimal structure.

I'll be using 4lb braid with 4lb leader if that makes a difference.

Can anyone suggest what weight Blades would suit these conditions the best?

Cheers.

35 or 40 size Vibes will be perfect for that depth. The 35 would be better for a slower sink rate and when the fish become a bit shy.Recommend you try a Strike Pro CYBER VIBE 35 BEST COLOURS 780E,975S,221 or 146OB,GOOD LUCK

Is there new colours out pygmy?? if so id like to see

I like using the more natural brownish colours also the tiger colour
i vary between the 35 an 40 size depending on depths or current
more current or slower water the 35 works well
deeper water and faster current 40,s

blades

i'm guessing either you fish the port or the onka for the bream on blades, ive had a good deal of success over the last few months on strike pro cyber vibes 35 & 45mm in colours JU007,JU008,JU009,221,A752E, this has been in the port in my bream boat fishing deep water near structure, have also landed snapper & school mulloway on them(a couple of big fish just cleaned me up big time) but i use at least double the breaking strains of fluro leader & braid line you are using as there is then a good chance of landing that better sized fish & also retieving lures that have snagged. I have found that like the soft plastics dont over do the action just lift the rod sharply (i use E21 carrot stix rods for this job) about 30 to 50cms let the vibe drop to the bottom, the fish usually hit it on the drop or when its laying on the bottom sometimes i let the vibe just sit on the bottom for a couple of minutes i have had fish both large & small take it from there. Good luck saros.

blades

just seen in my last post I had put down 45mm I should have put 40mm or 4cm that one weighs 6.6gms & the 3.5cm weighs 4.5gms. also in the new colours there is a all black model (dont have the model no at hand) this has worked well to. I also remove the top split ring & use a small lure clip. sometimes those split rings have sharp edges on the ends & can cut thru the leader as i have had experienced this in the past with other brands of lures & have lost some nice fish.
