Thanks for the link Tony, that's exactly what I'm after

those do it molds are top quality molds.
ive got one that i use to make bucktail jigs for pelagics etc and cant fault them- real easy to use just some advice if you guys are making heaps of jigs it might be worth having a look at one of the lee electric melter pots. these speed up the production process by at least 10x!!! also real safe as you dont have molten lead spitting at you. |

Theres a tackle importer called CoriCo Tackle at Artarmon who has jig moulds, bit on the pricey side tho.

When you are molten lead some sort of mask is really worth considering to protect your lungs. Those fumes are BAD for you.

You cant go past the Lee lead loader, which is available through Gun & Hunting retailers, it allows you to lift a handle and pour exactly the amount of lead needed to fill the mould and also allows for easy preheating of the mould which is an absolute must, one other small piece of advice is to get some pure wax and now and again add a small amount to the top of the molten lead, this acts like a flux and makes impurities in the lead float to the top where you can skim them off.
I have used one for years making balls for Black Powder pistol shooting and take Ravins advice and ALWAYS wear a HEP rated mask whilst around molten lead and NEVER let a bead of sweat or ANY moisture fall into molten lead as an explosion will ensue.

Anyone heard how much these jig-molds are going to retail for? I was talking to my local tackle shop late last year when I first heard about them. He'd seen them at the trade tackle show and thought they were going to be about $200 and didn't think he'd be selling many. Since they are only US$25 and CAN$42 this seems an extraordinary markup. I guess we just wait and see.

I spoke to the importer about a week ago & the smallest mould should be in Australia next week . You have to order them through your local tackle shop that stock fuji guides (same importer). He sugests that they will sell for around $100 Aust\
Hooks you can buy from Demon Jigs. donfish |

Mike just go to the Do-it website and they tell you which hooks are recommended for which mould. Do-it web site I bought an 8 x 1/16th mould from Bass Pro shops in the US and it's great! I now have 1/16th jigs coming out of my ears, and it's great experimenting with diff' hook styles. Pukka |
