Help!!!!

Ok I have a tight budget of up to $8000
I cant seem to find a boat thiws cheap new!!!
Can any one sugest anything in my price range.

Quintrex 400 hornet wide body is just a lil too pricy at this stage.
any one know how much a 385 explorer is?
other options
Stesel 400 threadfin, DohDohDoh told me just over $7k but i can only find them for $8.5k.
Edgetracker?
Stacer Seahorse?
Any advise welcome (other the plate Vs pressed debate)
Independent or comercial...
Cheers
Corey

Heya mate,
While there is obviously a debate between Plate and pressed get what you feel comfortable with.
Personally I bought a 2000 model Hornet 390 with a 25 Johnson and I love it.. I got it for a great price (5700)
From there you need to take into account the added extras that you need.
Electric motor, Livewell (if not fitted) seating, flooring etc.
If your budget is 8000 you are going to need to limit your spending to around 6000-6500 to add this stuff on. There arent alot of new boats out there that you can get for that price.
Second hand doesnt always mean 2nd best .. Ive had quite a few people in my boat and they have all commented on how stable it is and how well it performs for Bream fishing

hey corey,
I have to agree with bubba.
I used to work for a quintrex dealership in Albany and although I was never overly impressed with the quintrex range (personal opinion) I have to say I havent seen a better boat than the hornet. You could still find a second hand boat in great condition for between $5500 and $6500 Im sure. The hornet out performed any other boat I have ever tested time and time again and Im not only talking about quintrex ...the dry ride, thanx to the tri hull design, stability and it can be easily fitted out to anyones personal preferences...thats just to name a few highlights. I demo'd a 435 hornet (slightly bigger i know) with 3 other big, and I mean BIG blokes and it went like a dream... couldnt fault it as far as stability etc and powered by a 40hp 4stroke tiller controlled Merc it when like of shower of sh!t very impressive indeed. My advice would be to look out for a second hand one..remember that a boat is just an aluminium hole in the water that ya throw money into and they never hold their value so if its cheap and second hand it doesnt nescessarily mean its a crap.

Just spoke to Mark Brown @ Millards

Corey,
The last prices I have for the Edgetracker are:

3.85 Edgetracker
25hp honda
Trailer $9530
Add $550 for electric start

3.85 Edgetracker
25hp Tohatsu
Trailer $7995
Add $580 for electric start

all boats include front casting deck
battery includes a marine battery, battery box and marine battery terminals

If you call Shane I'm sure you could egt something you would like in the Edgetracker.

HTH.

Nice work Corey. I assume the boys down there looked after you well.

Whats the delivery date? Just need to mark it in my diary so I know when to keep a sharp eye out for a new boating bream maniac

Nice one Corey, it'll be a super boat.

Incidentally, the heaviest competition bream in Australia was caught by Craig (Mr Big) C fishing out of one of these. Something to aim for...

Corey, I have a 400 Quintrex widebody (first one in WA) and could not be any happier

I was in the same boat as you (excuse the pun) with a limited budget to get into the BREAM comps and the hornet has done the job and then some for over a year ( All WA BREAM rounds, countless S/W trips and even a trip to Shark Bay and all stops in between)

I have a 30 yammie 2 stroke CV on the back and with the money I saved against the 4 stroke I bought a Minn Kota. I looked at ALL the brands before I bought it and for my needs and $$$ the hornet takes the cake.

You cant go wrong getting the boat from the boys at Millard. I drive down there to get my O/B serviced as they are half the price of dealers/bank robbers here in Perth

And no I'm not sponsered by Millard.
