Hardbody Fishing

hey everyone.
i was just down at my usual fishing area today and the fish were hitting in a very wierd way on my suspending hardbody. i wasnt sure weather to pause it or just keep retrieving my hb after i was getting the hits. it was like i couldnt strike them because they wer just tapping at it. In confused on what to do so any help would be great

Pause it. Bring it in another 30cm or so. Pause again. Resume normal retrieve. Basically, don't get tempted to pull it away from the bream more quickly than you were retrieving. if your getting taps, you're obviously doing something right so don't change things around too much.
