Poisnous lures?

I have been looking at buying lures from the r2s range but i have stopped myself due to the chemical warning at the back of the packet.

I am not talking about the old version of the r2s lures in the hard plastic cases, i am talking about the ones in the small plastic boxes.

The warning mentions some sort of chemical used in making the lures which can cause cancer and other defects.

Has anyone come across these and what are your opinions, any info on this would be great.

Thanks,

Hotshot.

hey i have also seen these warnings on a range of other lures. im not really sure how dangerous it is but you wouldnt think it can be that bad as they would not be on the market if it was to serious. i just avoid putting them in my mouth (not that you wuold want to with owner hooks attatched )

I got some Bubble Pops the other day and noticed that too. I think they are just a warning only for California

If you sell you r product in the states and you have the same packaging for both countries you need the warning if you use lead. Some Yanks are pussies (because their society likes to sue) and need to have their common sense dished out to them in small words.

I think the chemical is for the *chemically sharpened hooks* that is on most lures. Is that the chemical warning or is it something else.

This is what says on the box of a brand new Bubble Pop

" Warning: These products contain a chemical known to the State of California to cause cancer & birth defects & other reproductive harm. Do not place your hands in your mouth after handling this product. Do not place the product in your mouth. Wash your hands after touching this product."

It wouldn't be the hooks as chemicals are only used to sharpen them. I think its the plaint or the plastic used

As said earlier guys, it's the lead. Anything containing lead that is to be sold in California has to have the warning printed on the package in some way.
