Rod and Reel advice needed

Hey guys,

I know this forum is for bream chat, but i was wondering if you guys can give some advice on a rod and reel for some heavier saltwater fishing.

Specifically i was looking to get a light setup (sort of) for catching GT's and Tuna as well Jacks and spinning for reef species. Im looking for something thats going to give me the same feeling as catching big bream on an ultralight stick (1-3kg).

From my research so far i was thinking of getting a reel around the 3000 size, and maybe a 4-8kg rod. Is this a little to light?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated and sorry im a little of the forum topic.

Nitro Innovator Snyper 10 foot 3kg to 6kg $299. Nice rock wall flick stick. Can handle good size salmon , so up to medium GT should be no probs. Its light so casting for a few hours is sweet as. Loads up nicely and hurls slicers, minnows and mulies a mile.

Daiwa Caldia Kix Custom 3500 approx $300 Landed. Real four design with all the extra fruit at a great price.
or
Shimano Rarenium ci4 5000 approx $340 landed. Lightweight to match the Nitro with same gear design as Twinpower and Stella but 1/2 the price.

That's my options without breaking the bank.

either a 10-17lb or a 12-20lb 7' td saltwater matched with a 3500 pe kix custom or a 3500 daiwa seagate would be ideal. Great value aswell for what your getting. Around 215 for the rod, 369 for the pe kix and 299 for the seagate. iv got the 10-17lb saltwater with the 3500 pe kix and its never missed a beat, true fish slayer.

cheers.

sargosa 4000 matched with a shimano jewel snapper spin... i love this combo... went chasing big GT's of atleast 40lb off the local jetty and the rod and reel went nice.. smooth drag and the rod loads beautifully
