Question What sort of sliders to start with?

Hi
I was wondering which of the three different types of 1.75" sliders (Atomic, Ecogear and Charlie Brewers) would you recommend starting off a lure collection with? Is there much difference in terms of action between the three.

What other styles of soft plastics would you recommend for starting off with. I already have a few of the smallest Squidgy Wrigglers (blood worm and avocado) but I have yet to try them out.

thanks
Matt

im sure im not going to be alone here but i think that pumpkinseed and muscadine are probably a good start with the charlies and the greenish coloured ecogear is quite good. ive never used the atomics in the paddle tails.

also look at the bassmaster grubs and atomic grubs in the natural colours.

make sure you also have some hardbodies aswell

That's a huuuuuge question Matt

First off, search the forums for what others regularly use, they do it for a reason

Second if you don't carry a Pumkin Shrimp (Pumkinseed is the other name for this colour) Charlie Brewer Slider in your kit you're not a serious Bream addict

Others to look at (and the colour will give away the type):

Muscadine
Smokey Shrimp
White (Slider)
Pink
Grass Minnow (the colour)
Blue Pearl Pepper
Gold Glitter
Green Gord
Motor Oil Gold
Amber
Avocado Gold
Atomic Pumkinseed (a bit different colour to the Charlie Brewer one)
Salt & Pepper
Brown Crawdad
Any of the Ecogear colours (I haven't tried the Okiami glow in the dark one yet), but I'm very partial to the pearl smoke glitter back and Clear Glitter / Red Back with Small Flake.

All these colour have a place in my tackle bag - and often they're doubled up in the matching curl tail grub as well.

The trick is to give yourself options on the day, so you can suss out exactly what they're biting on best.

I'd better stop now, or Warren is going to be getting another order off me, all this talk of plastics....... to quote Big Kev 'I'm Exited'

Hope this helps,

Lightbulb

Just to clear one thing up for you Matt, Sliders are only the Charlie Brewer Paddletails.

ie. Charlie Brewer have Sliders, Ecogear have Grass Minnows, Atomic have Fat Grubs

As for getting started with Sliders, one of these would be advised. Muscadine, Pumpkin Shrimp, Grass Minnow, Catapillar, Glo Minnow, Shrimp.

For Ecogear, take your pick as they are bought in based on how they perform with local species.

Atomic, the new colours are great. Old favourites would include Crawdad Chartreuse, Brown Crawdad, Motor Oil Gold, Gold GLitter etc. etc.

Hope this helps

Warren.
