Could we please have the Marc 28 Classic earlier by a week, it clashes with the Mallacoota ABT Qualifier.

Thumbs down

Susie - Given that Mandurah is your home turf I guess you choosing to go east and do the ABT event frees up a spot on the Classic podium for some other lucky angler.

And besides Timmsy had actually promised to give me a pedicure on the 21st

Steady on Craigo, I've seen your feet. They look like you've been walkin the Simpson Desert for the last 15 years mate!!

Back to the topic at hand....I would be happy to go to Mallacoota as long as there are at least another 6 people to share costs!! Otherwise it would be too expensive and I'll have to stay here and fish the Classic....

Hey Craig, Timsy may need some prefish time so drop into the workshop and I'll loan you the grinder

Those dates suit me just fine, got a round the world trip for three months and I would only miss the august comp. Hmm just need to find a permanent boater any suggestions?

So, after round one at least one person on the boat needs an RFBL.. Only one angler requires the tax certificate, oops sorry , license as The Classics are teams events and the team will stay within a single bag limit, (one hopes).

Do all passengers on board a boat on a fishing trip require a RFBL?
No. Any fisher not holding a RFBL will be permitted to fish from a boat provided he or she is in the company of a licensed boat fisher and stays within the licensed fisher’s bag limit. Provided the take of fish by all persons on a boat does not exceed the total bag and boat limits of fishers holding a RFBL, not everyone fishing on board requires the licence.

So if all you boaters put 40c per day in the tackle bag, you will have enough for the tax (er, license) by March, NBs need not worry about saving up until you plan to fish an ABT event in WA, after Feb

Thanks Mark - the comp rules will be updated to reflect the new requirements in due course.

Timmsy - Dropped into the Mandurah Marine Centre last week; their grinder wasn't up to the job - now it isn't up to any job

Hey guys,

When will these dates be confirmed? How is the Mandurah invitational going to work this year? To all the people involved in these comps a big thanks goes out to you, keep up all the great work. I look forward to supporting all these rounds this year.

Cheers
Tim

Dates will be confirmed once the relevant authorities go through due process.

The details of the invitational haven't been fully worked through but basically a small field of 10 or so boats with sponsors being paired up with anglers to give them a feel for the comps.

It will be a showcase style event rather than a hard core comp.

What can I say welcome to the travelling fisho brigade there Suzie, pretty arduous trek for your first over east ABT though, but i guess you have sussed it out and dont mind the 5 odd hour drive from either melbourne or canberra.
I hope know other one day classics conflict with the real mccoy, have you checked on this also, hopefully nothing clashes with the Tassie rounds especially the tues/wednesday comp i would be gutted.
But i am a little stressed that the Tweed and Clarence are so close together means more flying in the same month, do you reckon you will be doing any of those ones, 2 top rivers that logistically work out ok as well.
But the mighty Mal is on the list so maybe we will see you there.

Some may know this others will now

Not only other competitions have to be taken into account when setting the dates for the Classics - I try to avoid clashes with significant dates like Mothers Day etc and school holidays; then with the assistance of relevant Government Departments there is an application process to go through that involves quite a bit of paperwork - this also assists in avoiding clashes with any other events being run on the river or estuary.

So it is not easy to change dates and I am loath to do so

Leon - bit like a Rock star - living out of a suitcase - but nobody is paying to see you!!
