Jamie,

Good to see you back on the forum mate.

The places to start looking are as follows:
My Lure Shop www.mylureshop.com.au
fishin.com.au www.fishin.com.au

Try these places first and for most as they support the site. They have strong ranges and have great customer service and delivery times. Prices are excellent also.

If on the odd chance these guys don't have what you are looking for check out the following:

www.DohDohDohDohDohDohDohDoh.com.au
www.rayannes.com.au
www.lureworld.com.au

I have ordered through the first two and was only happy with DohDohDohDohDohDohDohDoh to be honest. Rayannes was slow to say the least. Prices are neither here nor there as some items are cheap and others can be had cheaper. I will be putting an order through lureworld soon for some snapbacks as I am yet to find a steady supply of the elsewhere. So I will let you know how that goes.

I hope that information helps you out mate, but I would definately invest some time down at the local tackle store. Given that most of the guys in there have done a fair amount of fishing they can point you in the right direction on a fair amount of topics, not just gear.

If you can form a relationship you may even score yourself a bit of a discount or a heads up on some new gear that could really help you out.

Anyway hope to see you one the banks again soon.

Ross

G'day,

I've only experianed service from 2 sites to buy fishing gear from. They are www.fishin.com.au and www.DohDohDohDohDohDohDohDoh.com.au.

Fishin I had excellent service, I sent my order in a on a sunday night, recieved confirmationg that night and also an email apologising that they were out of stock on some things. I recieved my lures on tuesday. Great service and turn around.

DohDohDohDohDohDohDohDoh, i will probaly not use again, as i ordered a new tacklebox (that i couldnt find here in forster) and some other stuff, after 2 weeks, i drove to coffs harbour and asked what was going on with my order. They werent sure, so i waited for them to find out. A fair while later they returned and said oh..we are out of stock on that...we meant to call you.
Fair to say I probaly wont go back to them.

Regards,
FF

As has been mentioned already the two site sponsors should be your first port of call. Both My Lure Shop and Fishin offer great service and prices.
Other than that I would say Mo Tackle. My experiences with them have always been excellent so it is unfortunate that Forsterfisho had a bad experience. Whenever they have been out of stock of something I have ordered they have called me straight away to see if I wanted to wait for the item or substitute it for something else.
Remember to support the site sponsors as much as possible as it is these guys that allow everyone to have a free forum to use.

Cheers, Dror

Yeah i can vow for DohDohDohDohDohDohDohDoh and fishing.com.au. Both are awesome websites and super fast shipping. Fishin gave me a pack of free soft plastics because it was my bday and he liked my signature

Ordered a Luvias from DohDohDohDohDohDohDohDoh in the wrong size they fixed it up for me really fast. You cant go wrong with either

MO has been pretty reliable. Only had a couple of (quickly resolved) stuffups in a dozen or so orders.

Rayanne's took 3 weeks to deliver a reel that they said they had in stock and then it took another week to get a receipt out of them. They have zero interest in answering emails/faxes/phone calls.

Just out of curiosity, when you buy a reel from overseas ie. Japan, America do you have to pay any import duties or tax? I am thinking of buying a couple of Stellas.

I have never had to pay import duties on anything ive imported myself.
If your looking to buy from Japan for reels best to check out bass.jp as there shipping is free for reels and usually alway throw in a spool of flurocarbon for free.If you order lures as the same time as your reel will pack the lures in with the reel.

Cheers

yer i've ordered numerous things including reels from OS
and ive never had to pay duty on them
it think they get around it by marking them as gifts, all the packages i get have a box checked on the consignment note that specifies it as a gift
