Stabilty of a 399 proline with side console

I've decided on a 399 proline as a first boat.
Just wondering if it would be stable enough
for a side console, will be running a yammy
30hp 3cyl detol. Will also be adding front casting
decks. Also if anyone on here owns a 399 proline,
do they handle chop very well or do they handle
just like a normal tiny?

...a mate of mine is just fitting out a side console in a 395 seajay, with good effect. just make sure you have a bit of balance thoughout the rig, the new hull style of the prolines looks the goods for a bit of chop, compared to the old full flat bottom type i had. good luck

Yeah mate I can vouch for their stability. I'm a big bloke, yet am still comfortable standing right out on one side of mine. I find the stability up front comfortable for me even a little chop.

Agree with dylman, in that you should spread the weight to counter the weight of not only the console, but your weight as well. No matter what you do, if only 1 up in the boat, it will lean one side (list), unless the console's in the middle. Remember that it is still only a small boat.......

Good luck with it.

Pat
