New Chariot

Hi all,

Just thought that I'd post up a few pics of my new boat.

Stacer Proline 399
Mercury 30HP

Bought the boat with all safety gear for $5800. Brand new, having never been wet. Good deal I reckon..........

The pics show the 54lb Watersnake that I fitted last Saturday, and the lights and switch panel that I TIG welded up, and wired up last night.

I'll keep udating as I put in th efloor, decks, livewell, and spraying it as I go.

Cheers,

Pat

Those engines are absolutely brilliant, in case you didnt know its actually a motor made by tohatsu for mercury. I had one in electric start and first go every time it went. Reliable, powerful, fuel efficient. And light as well.

Yep, I was happy when I found out it was built in Japan by Tohatsu.....

I seem to be over my initial starting probs, so all is good.

I've given it a name.

Showed my cousin the boat. He reached over the guwale to look inside, and a treble from an SX 40 hooked him on the inside of the arm.

..... So I " Got him!"

Just a couple pics of the sounder installation.

Bought a Garmin 400C, with dual beam / freq transducer. Seems really simple to use, which helps. Wanted to try it this weekend but the wind has buggered that plan.

Update-Fitout

Hi all,

Just some pics showing ally tubes to support the false floor, and installed and carpeted.

Spent the weekend welding frames to support the front & rear decks, and livewell compartment.

Cheers,

Pat

Yeah mate.
Actually took the boat out last weekend (blowing its arse off, and choppy).
4 on board with all the gear, and she handled a treat. Gave it the berries, and she absolutely flew along. The floor takes a lot of the banging noise away, the front & rear decks would only help more I would think. The boat should be way stiffer too. I'll out up picks of the welding tonight. I'm enjoying the whole process, its relaxing.....

Just some pics of the front and rear deck frames, and first carpeted hatch....

Having fun with the TIG welder, not so much in buying so much contact glue.
I'm not much chop working with wood, but I'll get there.....
