Bassmaster Bonanza=2kg+fish

You won't get any thing out of me except this, I caught nothing but Kilo+ fish (i have pics and digital weighed measurements) on every BassMaster plastic i threw this morning.
Every colour was killing the pig, all I'll say is this:
Light Leader
small profile Placcies
Deep water
Happy hunting Gents

Oh and it was Josh that got the 2.1kg 50cm fish, I pulled my pb 45cm 1.66kg.
There were 6 guys who will not Blab either and they were all pulling the same fish

I am lucky anough to be able to say I was on board with GeoffP this morning.
All I can say is It was the sesh of a lifetime, and what Bream Fishing dreams are made off. We hooked up on our first casts!!!
I personally landed 2x 40cm fish and a total of about 15 or 16 fish!
Pics will be revealed at a later date!
I've got to say thanx to GeoffP, Saltydog and the rest of the boys for such great company on such an awesome sesh!

great one mate, i am as yet to break into the bream on SP yet, out hunting tommorrow so hopefully finally break the duck.

Quick question on retrieve styles for bream, do you walk the SP along the bottom or retrieve it at a constant pace?????

I have seen guys throw backwards over their shoulder's and twitch as they walk away from the water and hook up.
The sort of things we did today were lots of little hops and sharp twitches and rips with big pauses.
I think a lot of the time people are used to fishing Hard Bodies "as i have been" and expect a sudden smash and ZZZZZZZ if you get my drift. Pay "close" attention to watching your line and you will see it move, you may not feel the fish but the bream will have the lure in it's mouth. I struck my big one today after a subtle twitch I saw in my line and it was on "Hell for Leather".
I think if you want to get serious, you have to start thinking about it (IRA "Fish Smarter Not Harder"), and trying stuff, I am so excited at the moment my fishing is reaching new levels.
I'll say it again, Light Leader try 4lb flurocarbon, Small profile plastics and deep water. Small twitches, violent rips, hops and lots of pauses, watch what the water is doing and use your weight's accordingly, there are more than 1/16th weight jigs out there people.

Great session guys, and Hootin Fish Josh, I could only assume CANNING or NARROWS Bridge or the Yacht Clubs for that size and consistancy, my guess is Canning, am I close.

Really good to see some hooters out and about, and unaffected by the algae thats looks to be hitting Melville Water soon.

Yeah a beutiful fish along with the other 47cm and 1.68 kg fish and the many others was a great day had by all . I couldnt beleive it . The best bit was smashing two pb's a new bag record any one would be proud of anf a new session record for fish landed not to mention the five bust ups . Well guys ill catch ya later.

I came in to work this morning and saw a crew of fella's who had figured out where it was we were fishing, there is no harm in that and i congratulate them for having the drive to find them. Unfortunately, the fish are few and far between for them at the spot and it's not surprizing either. I don't put the success we had yesterday down to my prowess as an angler (I am no way Kurt B or Spads) It was a once in a Blue moon thing where everything was going in our favour, i have said it till I am blue in the face but for the sake of all out there, think about what's going on around you.
I knew there was a weather front approaching Perth, yet there was no wind = "Falling Barometer" (if that has something to do with it, I reckon it does), the tide was .68 at 1:36am LOW and 1.03 at 1:26pmHigh (now i reckon that's a reasonable tide to be able to fish any where in the Swan), that ment that at 6am the tide would be half way in .87??? or thereabout's,plenty of water for the Bream to move around and feed. The current flow was steady not ripping through (now there is a clue and a half) and the area had a channel with flats either side of it where the Bream can Dive for cover from surface predators and or feed in deep water to be even safer.
I had a mate ask me "but where should I fish from this place?", this is where you have to come up with the goods, I gave up holding guys hands at Kindergarten. We all Know after Walpole and "The Living Legend MADFISH " that you need to think outside the square, if Bream'in was as simple as tieing on and throwing a lure, I'd take up golf "fish Smarter Not harder".
It's the challenge, the fish don't sit still and if you throw your lure in the same fashion time and time again without covering ground you will may not get the desired results.

Yup Geoff... and I think this is where the 'luck' element of fishing comes into play... right place at the right time.

That's all I can say about my session there on Thursday morning as I rarely bother to check tide times. I choose a destination, and I throw a line when/if I get the spare time
