New Luvias - Confused??

G'Day Crew,

My new Luvias arrived yesterday whilst at work and couldn't wait to get home to "play" with it.

Very nice, light and matches well with the rod.

Dissapointed though in that the handle is fixed that is I cant loosen it up and fold it over so it fits in the daiwa neoprene cover I purchased.

All my other reels including the twinpower, advantage were able to do just that.

At this moment I have to remove the arm/handle completely, unless I am missing something. Very strange.

Any idea's?

Regards,

Rob

Hey Rob,
Yes you will have to remove the handle each time but this also gives you a much better quality and less handle movement. A more precise action as well, i have a luvias 2004 and a Sol 2000 i much prefer my Luvias every day of the week.

Dale.

i second that, i much prefer the machined handles i got for my certates, over the collapseable ones they come with, no matter how good the reel, collapseable handles always develop some play

thanks for the replies guys. How do you stop getting dirt etc on the threads, when the handle is removed?

Was told about $80-$100 for an extra spool

It is matched up to a G-Loomis Dropshot 2-4kg and 8lb TD Sensor braid as it will be my general rod casting sp's, hb's and basic baiting.

I have been casting outside with a light plastic and I am not overly impressed with the setup. Maybe I was expecting too much from somewhat higher end components.

Regards,

Rob

with the price of imported gear goin up most likely be more than 100 now, for a spare spool, well worth it though,
maybe drop down to 4 or 6lb sensor for distance, i usually use the 4lb, and its plenty strong enough, and fair bit thinner than 8lb, about pe0.3 i think for 4 pound

If put a cut in the neoprene near the loop part of the velcro you can put the handle through the cut without removing the handle and you can put cover on while the reel is on the rod.

Or you can buy a shimano cover that is a better design that has the slots in it already.
