Question Rattlers for bream

Hey guys,
Has anyone ever tried small rattlers for bream, here in south Aus a guy put me on to them, he fishes the Port River and reckons they outfish everything, rubber and all, he knows his stuff and has been catching bream on lures for more than anyone i know celebrities and all. He has told me of stories of consistant 100+ fish a session, he reported this year as quiet, which was generally true with only a couple of trips (3) yielding ofer 120 bream.!!!!!! mind blowing I reckon
He reckons fish them like plastics but without letting them contact the bottom and just as with plastics watch your line..........
I'll attach a picture of the lures he has put me onto soon!!!!!

I tried a rattling lure about 18 years ago down at Warnambool in the Hopkins, I had no success. It was probably a Cotton Cordell something or other from memory. I've never tried since.

Hi Shauno

I remeber a posting which people where talking about spinner baits and there use on bream. i would of thought the noise would be too much and spook the fish out of the water. But im told there are smaller spinner blades and are aimed toward bream.
i would try and get out with this bloke offer him something as i suspect it has something to do with how its presented more than what is presented.

Cheers
Stuie

Can you post a piccie of what your refering too shauno?...

A lot of the hardbody lures I have, have ball bearings or similar in them that cause a rattle...is that what your refering too

R2S and halco's have been dynamite here in the west and they both have a rattle...

Rattilin Rapalas come in sizes of 3cm 5cm 6cm 7cm 8cm and 9 different colour schemes
The best place to try to get them from would be Bluewater or Campbells dont think Breammaster stock them
If no luck locally PM me and Ill give you email address of a mate that I get mine off

Isn't this a HB subject?

Anyhow bibless lures are very underated in this country, their ability to fish vertical structure can only be challenged by SP's, although SP's are miles more snag resistant...

Horses for courses...

What about the CC Rattle Spot Minnow?
