Baby Vibes 35

Hey guys,

Recently I purchased some baby vibes but I am yet to catch anything on one. I've found that I can catch fish on the good ol SX40 but never any good on the vibes. I have found a little bit of information on here about how to fish them but are there any tips? Also what colors do people use?

Thanks

Justin

I havent tried the see through ones yet, but I have caught bream on all the other colours. I do favour a greeny colour fishing any lure in the swan.

I dont have any tips to fishing them I fish them like a plastic. I'm sure some baby vibe guru will give you the good oil. Think of them as baby jackals and fish them like the guys in the bass comps do.

I fish them like a jerk bait

the only thing i dont like about them is when fishing them with both hooks they hook each other up alot

I like the trout colours and the pink

Havent had huge success with the blue gill ....but many others will disagree

Changing trebles to #14 or smaller stingers stops this

yes but when you hook a blowie they usaly swalow the hook

and then it ends up a verry verry bad day for mister blowie

or you have to cut off your trebble

Well said.

Thanks for the tips guys. I guess you would probably fish these in the deeper water. If I start catching on them it will be great because they truly are great value for money @ almost half the price of an sx40.

upsizing to a size 16 or bigger also cures the problem as they overlap so dont catch anywhere near as easily, imo much better hookup rate and alot less dropped fish this way too

iv fished the babies for a while now and have found the purple and green colours do the damage like shane im yet to use the see through colours, there great to ping at a bridge pylon leave your bail arm open, its a nervous wait i know, but it helps the lure to drop straight down once its on the bottom fish it like a placy ie. bounce it up and down or shimmy it over the bottom i even add some sent to it as well, iv gotten into the habit of once the lure is on the bottom i give it a quick crank its got a rattle in it remember? and this is what really attracts the fish. keep in mind if the current is strong it may not always sink where you want it in which case cast up from the current and let it sink towards you but still keep your line close to tight, so not really loose, but enough so you can see a fish strike.
enjoy.

Thumbs up

I had a great time using them last weekend - threw them around the flats and fished them like plastics. Just lift and feel them vibrate, then drop. On the flats you can fish them over the weed beds, and then drop them in to clear patches. I also had good success on them in the deep water. They seemed to be THE lure last weekend.
I was using the gold one,the natural green/silver one and the clear/purple one. All caught fish. I lost the gold one to a something BIG , the green/silver one is split up the middle it got hammered so hard and the clear/purple one was the only on to come home unharmed.

Yeah the green did the damage for me, first time out with mine, which was just purchased on a whim a few years ago produced a flatty on the first cast, 4 more throughout the arvo and a baby bream.

Oddly enough I haven't even bought it out in a long time(go the plastics), but I'm going to head out tomorrow and ressurect it.

G'day.

Change your trebles to size 16 owners or smaller if you feel is needed. This will most likley stop them being caught on each other. I like the HA11 colour the best. Bear once reccommended to me that I fish it like a plastic, since than I've had great success. Their just a great lure and a definentley a go to when not much else is working.

Nugget.

Ended up hauling in another 6 flatties with my original baby vibe a few days ago(with some shiny new trebles mind you), unfortunatelty they all went 20-25cm's, had a 40cm lizard swim straight past us too.

I'm going to give the canning bridge a crack over the weekend to see if it can't account for a few of those monster bream round there.

Personally I use size 18 Owners on the vibes. Works really well.
