Colours

Consistently in this forum i have been reading about peoples favorite colours for different types of lures and some people even say that colours dont make a difference for them, its the action...

Well, i guess my next question is: for example:

An sx40 313 vs an sx40 301

It seems more people favor the 301 and swear that it catches more fish, even the 302. But how much difference is there between 1 sx40 and another really in thier ability to really attract a fish in your opinion?

Is it more the action which attracts a fish with the colour being the secondary attractant to the fish? Or does colour REALLY make a difference to the number of times you will be hit?

I do know the whole, clear day, clear water, natural colour or dirty water dark day brighter coloured lure jingle jangle, but also believe this is only precuationary to making sure that the fish has every chance to VISIBLY see the lure. Although this is important, and after taking this into consideration, will a fish turn down a lure because its the wrong colour even after it has seen it over another colour? Or once the fish has seen the lure, is it all up to the lure's action from then?

Well I've had days when I was using a 310 coloured SX40 and getting no intrest, then when i swapped to a 302 i was pulling em in 1 after another. This was fishing from the EXACT same spot with the exact same retrieves. So colour does play a part in catchign fish IMO.

You will develop certain faourite colours which will work for you most of the time, but every so often the bream will want something completely different. My favourite colours are 302, 306, 343 (bluegill?), 305 and 307.

IMO colour can play a part in getting the fish, but generally I think if a lure is in the right spot then you'll get hit!
