Smith Split ring tool, I use em when I'm at work. When I'm home i usually just use a pair of longnosed pliers. Helps alot if they have the corrigated jaws. Takes a bit of practice, but it gets easier...The Smith Split ring tool is $14.99 from memory.

Everyone has there one way.
The best way i have found , and it can be done in 10seconds flat, is to firstly part the split with the old treble , then slide in the new treble and feed it round . Old treble falls off , new treble goes on. The one step installation. I have found if you take the old treble off and you are left with just the ring, things can get might fiddly Cheers Nick |

I use nail clippers to change my trebles and have found it pretty easy to do.
