Question Inflatable PFD, which one????

Looking at getting an inflatable PFD, but don't know which one.

Manual inflatable yoke type but which brand. As with anything there are cheap ones and then there are 'cheap' ones.

Hopefully someone can point me in the right direction.

Thanks

Gday ice, i just got 2 of the new ones that fit around your waist like a bum bag. They work the same as the slimline type they have a rip cord that you pull and the self inflate. I find them great they allow you to fish without any interference. But alot people dont mind the slim line type.
You can have a look on Saturday.

I recently bought a Wild Country PFD from DohDohDohDoh for about $90, it seems OK to me but its the only one Ive owned so I got nothing to compare to.

The sale at anaconda sale is what had me think of buying one, and that the last time i went out on a boat i was using one of those big puffy yellow ones.

Craig,

I baught another inflatable PFD last week. Its a Burke one and they are on special for $100 at whitworth. It is more comfortable and sits a fair bit nicer than the other inflatable (marlin) I had when you came out with me. The hutchwilko ones that Ruski mentioned look the goods, but the ones I looked at where a bit rich for me.

PS. I havent forgotten about those photos.

Hi

I am from WA and was wondering if the Victorians' PFD that goes around the waist is a PFD Type 1 or something else? Just wondering if WA and Vic has the same or different rules as I need Type 1. Have never seen this before in WA. Interested in the waist PFD as the manual ones that goes over the shoulders I can't use as I have a slight shoulder back problem, the slight weight affects me esp with casting all day

Many thanks

when i get home from work today i will take a couple of pics for you.
And yes they are pfd 1 type, in vic if your boat is under 5 mtrs you need to wear one all the time, and my boat is 385 so i find them great. (i think its 5 mtrs someone might corect me on this it could be 4.5 mtrs)

For $125 you cant go past the stormy seas ones, They are the best and most comfortable without question.

if the boats are under 4.8 metres you must wear a pfd in Victoria.
