Lightbulb OrG replacement bibs

I had a JG sitting in my lure box for a while but decided to fix it after losing my last usable OrG.

If you can't get replacements you can have a go at this.
You'll need:
a disposable nail file (one of those cardboard ones)
a tape cover (clear-preferably one you don't listen to)
a small cutting pliers
a hacksaw
araldite
a ruler
a felt pen
The tape cover is almost the same thickness as the original, the nail file is the same width and bib roundness of the original.

1. Trace the nail file onto the tape cover (front) and make it 1' or 25mm long.
2. cut it out using the cutting pliers and sand the edges using the nail file.
3. tricky bit: cut into the OrG's bib slot with the hack saw to take out the lock.
4. sand out the slot with the nail file (gee it's useful ) to make it the thickness of the new bib.
5. mix up the epoxy and glue in your new bib.

Sorted!

Note: you may need to tweak the tow point, but when i did it, the lure worked straight up

Talking

...or you can post them back to Wayne Lennon at Oargee and he'll either fix a new bib to the lure, or replace it free of charge.

This is providing the bib has actually cracked or failed. If there is evidence of it being smashed off rock walls or wrenched off an oyster rack you might get it back in its original condition...LOL

Geoff P posted the address before for Oargee, I'll see if I can find it.

Warren.

Thumbs up prevention is the best cure...

the best bet would be to NOT bounce them off rocks and pylons (as i invariably do )

I have just sent three back to the maker for him to have a look at. These failed after only a few outings and were not mistreated. The problem appears to be fatigue cracking at the point where the bib is glued to the lure. Hasn't happened to all my LRs though, so it's hard to know whether it's a bib composition hiccup, a glue-bib reaction problem, or just bad luck.

Whatever the reason, I do hope it gets sorted, as they're one of the best bream lures on the market (if not the best).

Cheers
