Question Mustad Ultra Point trebles

I have had a look at these trebles but didn't end up buying any at the time. Has anyone given them a try and what did you think of them? They do have a nice round bend and looked like they might be a nice bream hook.

Thumbs up there good

I swear by them on my larger lures as you can't get them smaller than a size 8. That don't blunt too easily and resist the rusty scourge. I have been using them for the past 3 years since coming to Perth and starting to catch herring on lures. Halco use them on the Scorpion 52 & 68

Yeah they aren`t to bad at all, I used them for a little while in size 8 for my 52`s, but I have since gone back to Gama 10 on everything... Its just because i can trust those a lot more. Ive been lloking at the Size 8 gamas as well the black ones of those look pretty nice as well.

cheers

Thanks for that JP and Richo,
I think i might have to buy a pack or two and wack them on the 52's to see how they go. Some of mustards other new hooks(fly hooks especially) are very well made and do a great job so i reckon i will have to give these a good test run as well. Thanks again.

Brian

JP, I think you might be thinking about the Triple Grip hooks. I think they are the ones that come standard on the 52 + 68's. The hooks i am talking about are a short shank round bend treble which are red in colour. The triple grip trebles are a very good hook as well and they do seem to stay pretty sharp.

You're right!

I know both and yes I use both. I actually put the red round ones at the rear of my oargees size 8 and a size 10 on the front and the triple grip hooks have that angle in the bend that I love so retrofit them on the larger lures. I reckon I get more hookups on it. I said to Geoff P today that I wished the triple grip came in a size 10 & 12 cos' i'd look no further for a treble. So in a size 10 I use a Gamukatsu or VMC especially if I can get it in red.
