Thanx guys. They cast very well, and the drag is great. Unfortunately mine was second hand and it appears that the bearings were not looked after.
I might compare prices of new bearings, and a whole new reel. Their good reels for the price and the internals are very simple making for easy servicing! They also come with two spools. |

Try this company:
http://www.minibearings.com.au/ They have bearings of every size as the name suggests. Make sure you get Stainless steel. Stevo

I checked out the Tica's seriously yesterday for the first time
Being a self confessed Okuma fan I thought they really measured up and the Libra in particular was tops Tiger Another I liked was the newish Diawa Samurai - a 7bb reel around the $100 mark, no worm drive though but still pretty flash Cheers,

Yeah thats very true.
I was spewing coz i got my reel off my grandad. He travels a lot (i'm in an aviation family!) and got it in singapore. UNfortunately the warranty is no good in australia so i cant get it fixed for free. The reel sstill works but it makes a lot of noise and needs very regular servicing which frankly i cant be bothered with. The samuria only comes witha 12 month warranty. Spewing, it had better last coz i like to look after my reels and hope that they work well in return!!! Dave |

G'day everyone
i have just brought a Tica Libra 2500 a few days ago , i packed it with 4bl fireline and put in on an old diawa rod. it is an awsome little reel, 10bb cast perfect and it is so smooth. i reckon it is much better than my old reel (shimano stradic)![]() Tica reels are alright in my book definately in the top 5 brandsCheers Matt |
