No. 1 lure for small bream? VIC.

Guys if i was to buy one lure (my first lure bar SP) what would be the best choice. I will want somthing for the small bream in patterson river, maybe the yarra etc.

I have never fished much with hard lures so i will need to learn to use it before i get any fish on it i'd imagin.

the fireline 6LB with mono leader and a 2-5kg graphite Rod would do the trick for this and SP true?

Regards
Ben

P.S i have been through posts but there is so many lures and i cant start to think what one i should buy, i'd love to get them all but money does not permit

"Teeny Crawdad Deep Diver in greenish colours"

Is that the Rebal teeny wee deep crawfish as per this site?

or is it really called a Teeny crawdad?

The Helco sneaky in fire fin is this better than the Chrome Gold Orange Back as they picture?

what about the Attack minnow

ahhh so many to pick from makes it hard!

I guess if the halco sneaky has taken fish i should try that first. maybe i'll by 2 lures to try (if i spend the $20 free postage on bream master)

Chartreuse / Green Back sound like the colour? about the only green i saw on the site.

Also how can you tell if they are deep or not? when you click on the lure, deep or the normal it goes to the same page! and i dont think any are deep lures??!?!?!

prob best if i dont get the deep because i am not really fishing that deep in the patterson river etc

You'll catch fish on any of the lure types they sell here. I wouldn't be too worried about which brand you decide on, think more about trying to choose the right colour. There are plenty of posts from guys stating their favourites, read them and make up your own mind.
Personally I like the Halco Scorpians (chrome/orange/black) and the Oar-Gees (Matt Fraser and JG). Both are shallow divers and as I'm no boater most of my fishing is done in shallow water.

I've not used a Palaemon or a Rebel Crawdad. Keen to though. Just have to convince the treasurer (wife).

i have had a couple of takes on various lures stangely
a take on a poltergeist 50 blood nut colour
small halco 35
but swankes teeny Crawdad Deep Diver in greenish colours i have picked up one and had good sucess in the marrybyong.

If i had onlyone HB maybe a 52 Scorpion orange and gold. But i would pack the rest of them in my box. Lures are for the complusives in all of us you cant stop at one.

Cheers
Stuie

Sandworm,
why do you want a lure for small bream????

YOU WANT A LURE FOR BIG BREAM

1.Rebel teeny deep craw
2.Halco Scorpions
3.Palaemons
4.Oargee's
5.Rapala 3-5cm floating
(not in order)

hmmmmmmm ok lots of names lots of styles,

maybe i will get a few from this site, whats the colours to go for?

at the moment i plan to get the following:

if anyone has a must get list of 3-4 lurers to start with PLEASE tell me because not ever having played with HB lures i am guessing 100% (along with advise thanks all)

Halco Sneaky
- Chrome Gold orange back $10.95
- Fire Fin $10.95

Rebel teeny wee Deep Crawfish
- charteuse $12.95
OR maybe
- Stream $12.95
(Swank-e said green these are all i saw, i dont know how to find the Deep diving ones)

Oargee's
- JG $12.95

AND for reading the Bream book $29.95

Now as you can see thats total of $90.70
and being on a .... less than most wage this is heaps for me! so can we try to narrow it down a bit.

P.S if you see a silly guy diving for a snaged lure that could be me! i cant afford to replace these beasts!

See if you can get the book at a library, that's $30 saved already. You should go alright with those lures though.
