Solas Prop's...
Just want some feedback from guy's who have fitted stainless prop's to there rigs and what results in terms of top end speed they produced. Will l see a significant change to getting onto the plane quicker?
Thinking of getting the New Saturn stainless prop from Solas for my Honda BF 40 to see if l can get more for less in terms of rev's to knot's ratio. What sort of increase in speed would l likely obtain. The motor is bolted on a 4.25 Edgetracker. And also maybe the good and bad points on such a change if people have them...and is it really worth the $520 price tag...Thank's in advance Steve... |

The only reason I've never fitted one Steve is that we tend to give our props a bit of curry in the sand and I don't feel like doing that to a stainless prop.

man if u got the money go for it, they will increase your speed by a couple of knots, they are stronger then normal props but the difference with them is that they shatter instead of bending and they look absolutly wikid on a motor im planing on getting on for my yammie wen i get it

Mate in two words - don't bother.
$520 is a fair wack for a small gain (maybe 2 knots?) Don't forget Solas make other props that may help performance (and planing issues) without this price tag. Do some homework - the boys at Just Propellors will give you honest advice on all this Good luck |

Bit of sand is not as much of a worry as the odd log and rock would be to a stainless prop!
You will gain a bit in top end but not that much. On a 40 Hp OB is it enough to be worth the cost? What are your figures now with the prop you already have? If you were poorly propped now then you might get a real benefit - but if your within 10% prop slip - probably no great gains to be made! Cheers! |

It will give you a gain but for my opinion there's better ways to spend your money...
If out of a hole is what your after than try a SE Sport foil..that will help it you fell the boat is slightly undergunned or over weighted http://www.bla.com.au/index.php?fn=p...874bd864933084 |
