Lean seats
are lean seats worth getting when ordering a new boat ?
looking at getting a 435 hornet trophy and was wondering if it is worth spending the extra dough for a lean seat. |

IMO they are worth their weight in gold. Especially when it gets choppy and balance is important.

Mate it does depend on hoy you want to fish.
I havent tried them personally because i believe they may make me a lazy angler. JMO. Lots of people have them though and they swear by them. If your going to get one, maybe go for the ones that can fold down when your on the plane. Otherwise they look a little silly and could inhibit your view when motoring. Best bet is to see if you can hook up with someone who has one and see how you like them. |

I got one recently and have used it only once since.
My two reasons were balance, and comfort. I'm prone to getting a sore back toward the end of days fishing, so a lean seat gives me the opportunity to sit back a bit more and continue to fish in a more relaxed state. Previously I'd had to sit down on the deck and not fish at all for a while. Gaff

I swear by mine and wouldn't be without it.
they are worth thier weight in gold although they can take a little getting use too. They don't impead your vision becuase it really isn't that hard to move your head a little and they don't make you a lazy angler in anyway shape or form, they would only look silly to those who know nothing of what they are looking at so don't worrry about that either.
I believe lean seats add to the quality of your session because you can fish a lot longer because you are relaxed and attention levels are higher becuase you are not distracted by muscle soreness. I find my lower back and legs are much better for it after a day on the water. You will never regret purchasing one and in the big picture they are worth peanuts when buying a new boat. |

I'm with you Rod.
My regular fishing partner is quite a few inches shorter than me, (and he's not as high as me either ) so it means I can adjust the height of the seat to suit both of us Gaff

I couldn't live without one! I don't have sea-legs! Does block one's view like Brad said; have to keep pulling it out. A bream boat looks weird/incomplete without one, IMO

Can anybody tell me how much a set would cost. Inculding the seat ,post and the mounting plate (piece that goes into the floor)
Also if they ar available indifferent hieghts. I only have a small boat with not that big of a beam and didn't want o go to high. Brett

This is the one i was talking about. I think
the one i have has a black locking mechanism but i think the photo is just wrong..http://www.whitworths.com.au/main_it...AbsolutePage=5 So $69 for the seat $19 for the seat swival $50 for the seat and $40 for the base and your on your way..
