melbourne get together

whose interested in a melbourne get together and fish session??

ive shown a couple of guys from here (swank-e & pw) around the docklands, but after reading how the wa guys meet up once a week or so, i thought it might be good to have a melbourne version. teach the newbies some new techniques and share ideas.

let us know if your interested and if might happen

thanks

Pete,
I might be able to have my arm twisted into going for a fish Just need a time and place when you find out who wants to give it a go.

brian, hows the maribyrnong for newbies??

im fishing there for the first time in 8 years on monday.

docklands is great for seeing big fish but you need to be able to cast pretty accurately to have some success. maybe somewhere where you can just ping a cast out and work on the retrieve is the go.

I'm happy to attend a morning session on the Maribyrnong or other venue. Weekend is the only possible time I can do mornings.
Late afternoon (5pm onward) or night is fine during the week, Wed is my preferred night for that.
It would be interesting to get a few of us together in the one place, I've fished with Pete S and Brian on separate occasions and can confirm that they are good coaches.
C'mon the rest of you Melb area Victorians, if I can make it from Geelong surely we can get a good turnout of locals.

Pete,
The maribyrnong is great for newbies. The banks are easy to walk and there's no distance casting involved as most of the fish are right at your feet. If you are going for a fish on monday you might have to go looking for the fish. The rain that is coming down at the moment might move them around a bit. Hope ya find a few.
Brian

Pete,
I suppose that means i will have to do a bit more fishing to make sure there are some bream around wherever we go. I will see what i can do.
Brian
P.S Pete, here's a piccie of a prime Maribyrnong bream haunt just so you know what to look for when you go down on monday.

I've got a great way for all you guys to meet. Pick a really nice pub, organise drinks and a counter meal, and have your heads shaved at the same time.

Why not organise a Vic Bream Shave Team fvor the Worlds Greatest Shave for a Cure?

Did I mention that Warren is putting up a prize pack for the individual who raises the most money in sponsorship. The pack will be worth around $100.

Cheers

Mim

Sure is Jim. There are quite a few shopping trolleys in the river, esp. up around the Maribyrnong Rd Bridge area. It is a lot cleaner than it was 15 years ago though.
