poppers/walkers for whiting?

hey guys
been having some great sessions on the lake chasing whiting on poppers. have been finding poppers between 50-60mm are doing quite well. whenever i have tried other lures like the sugapens in this spot i dont seem to get as much interest. the water is very clear and on a sand flat (no weed) around 1-1.5m deep. have been doing better on slightly windy days. does anyone else think that this water is too deep to use walkers or is there something im missing? ive read articles saying how good walkers are for whiting but im not seeing it yet.

cheers for the replies guys, as i mentioned im catching fish on the poppers so not too worried, but after hearing so many people raving about sugapens etc its funny that im not getting much interest at all on the same flat that they are chasing the poppers down. i will give it another go next week and see wat happens.

yep every spot fishes different, if it aint broke don't fix it. another thing that works when whiting are finicky is to dress the rear treble with some light pink marabou and a little bit of crystal flash.
