I am not worried about the money i lent him as I would do the same for any my mates to get them out of the DohDohDohDoh, but its the lack of communication and poor service that I am over. I offerd him the money.

I would have thought his own business insurance would have covered for loss or damage of goods in transit ?

Hopefully he is alright and everything gets resolved soon in the near future .

As a business point of view, I feel very sorry for Perrie for what ever business dealings have turned bad, unfortunatley in business these things happen.
Any one in business will tell you that.

If any of you paid by credit, go to the bank to see about getting a refund.
DohDohDohDohDohing on here is not gonna help.
And if any of you paid in full on order, not smart !!

One more thing that I feel sorry about is that you blokes often wrote glowing reports on Perrie for his rods and stuff and thought alot of you were his mates.

Surely some of you knows where he lives ??

Why not pop around to see what's going on.

I know money is involved but don't kick a man while he is down.

Nice work?

I'm sure if he has some major problems that the people here would be more than happy to offer support and, with some members expertise, may even be able to help him in his dealings.

So did anyone ever hear anything from Perrie?

I also have a rod, which I payed for back in september 09, that has never arrived.

Atleast I know mine was built as it was this rod:

I've always been patient, but 6months is too long.

I have never dealt with nor do I know Perrie but I would go as far as saying that the comments I have read on here are fair.

The problem with shipping companies is that unless you purchase insurance they will not guarantee that your item will even get to the door of the customer(that in itself seems silly to me. What service are they actually offering?) I have dealt with the same myself. I had a rod lost in the mail and as the seller pre purches his consignments you can't get insurance.

Unless the vendor offered insurance on their shipping and the customer refused to pay it or the customer offered to organise their own shipping I'm affraid that the responsibility for the loss lies on the vendor. All businesses should have their own contingencies/insurances to cover any such things happening.

Given all that, some on here might be able to forgive those failings but the most upsetting thing here is the lack of communication. BM was used as a marketing tool and has won a lot of loyal customers and for those that have one of his rods they would still swear by them but it is a slap in the face to not give people the time of day on here to even jump on here and write a short paragraph just to let them know what is happening.

Just my opinion.

Hey Turley - In answer to your question Perrie e-mailed me on the 2nd of Feb and said that his consignment issues would be sorted out in a couple of weeks and that he would be in touch with the details. Apparently the new deal requires him to pay on dispatch and it's costing him an 'arm & a leg' with this other mob but he was getting it sorted out. Be patient mate - we live in hope Cheers Paul

I thought that Turley bought an existing rod (that has nothing to do with the above mentioned consignment)

Not good at all...

Spoke to Perrie a couple of weeks ago. Keep trying to call him as he will answer eventually. Leave messages, he will return your call. He is not hiding, he knows he owes people rods but he said that from one day to the next he doesn't know how he is going to be as his back is pretty bad and he said he loses feeling down a whole side of his body at times.

He said he has read the comments on here and did mention to me that he was planning on getting here to reply.

Don't worry, I have been in the same boat. Ordered a surf rod in March told it would arrive in April, eventually got it in August. Every rod I have ordered has been the same, but I am pretty patient and I love the rods he builds so if you want a rod just don't plan to have it, just be happy to wait, ha ha!!

If he has enough health to read the replies here he has enough to leave one himself, even if just to touch base... It sure sounds like he's hiding from the issue to me.

that's a terrible effort on his behalf. blatently lying to customers time after time.
