I heard from him on the 19/1/10 with regards to a suitable reel for my build but have heard nothing since. His computer was down towards the end of the year.

saw him a while ago. he was in the middle of a court case with a freight company and getting screwed for what i was told. on top of that his health issues have escelated since late last year and he has been trying to get a few things fixed if possible. the downside of living in the sticks is the pathetic health system and it takes years to get anything done !
ill be down that way shortly so ill see if i can drop in and see hows he's going.

The court case done and dusted. I live close to Perries place and take him fishing well should I say used to take him fishing. Like a lot of guys in here said hes dropped off the face of the earth. Fails to return calls, texts and any other form of communication. I have had several people PM me chasing him. Over the excuses like most.

I have defended heaps in here and considered him a good friend but when guys have paid him in good faith for rods in adavance and its been over 6 mths for some and no contact not good. Busy or not doesnt cost much to let people know whats going on. Same excuses used over and over.

Looks like its a case of not handing your money over until you get the product first, rod builders might want the money for materials and not being left out of pocket if the customer backs out,,but from a customers point of view its to risky to hand any money over and this is a prime example.

Breno i was aware that the original case against his original carrier was on hold but i was also under the impression that the new one againt his current carrier was under way as well ?
i understand people issues with payment being made and rods not delivered but the last conversation i had with him when i he was in getting some xrays led me to beleive that he had lost somthing close to 10k worth of rods in damage by both companies and neither where honoring insurance claims. he told me that he has had to take on extra outside work to make up the cash to buy new components to rebuild and ship the rods that have been damaged, the way i see it thats 3 x the work load by building a rod twice and secular work and effectivly he must be almost working for free. is it any wonder his already major health issues have escelated. not to mention the cost of the legal issues on top. id be having a breakdown with half that on my plate thanks.
no dont get me wrong, im on anyones side if they dont get what they payed for but has anyone actually confirmed if he's ok or is it a free kick in the guts while he is aparently down ?

Communication is the key!!!!!!!
let them know and they will wait????? but it would be a courtesy to keep people informed.

AJT I know what your saying. But a phone call to people or a text message is no big deal to let his customers know. If I ran my business with no communication with my customers I would not be able to afford to buy all my toys. I went out on a limb to help the guy lending him money for the last court case and even I dont messages returned or a simple text message. Just to let you know he does not owe me a rod I have been lucky enough to get mine. But I have recieved several PM's from guy asking me if I know whats going on. So what do you suggest people do? Just sit back and wait.

i agree breno 100%.
all i can say is after the quite intimate knowledge of his health issue part of which is degenerative id still like to know he's hearts still beating.
might be hard to complete outstanding purchases if he's dead ?

i will try and follow up myself in a few days and see if he's got a white flag or a tomb stone.
