Don't disagree Andrew, and the treble idea on bream plastics is not one I'd condone and I will looking into the option of banning them. The stingers I use are size 6 Gama Drop Shot hooks. Nice and fine can be snipped off no probs.

Never had one fish inhale the stinger deeply, majority get hooked on the lips (take note of Zacs pic), and the fish that are hooked with the jighead seem to go straight for the head which leaves the stinger and rest of the plastic outside the mouth.

Have fun! ;-)

Bear could you explain pls how you attach the stinger leader to the jig head. I normally use a 5 turn uni knot for leader to jig.

Cheers
Nathaniel

I usually use a modified Lefty's Loop, without the loop. Just tighten to the jig head.

Pretty much any knot an be used to tie on the stinger hook. It is not bound by the same contraints as, say, jigheads, where one type of knot is better.

I prefer a knot that tightens up to the eye so i can point it towards the end of the placcy to keep the line running close to the plastic

Could you guys post up a pic of the stinger threaded through the tail?

I have tried it in the past for trout as the little buggers hit the lures alot but dont hook up, i never really thought about using it on bream because i thought the loose bits of line and the hook in the back would put them off a bit.

I played around with it last night and i tried tying the stinger line to the hook shaft then thread it through the plastic straight after the shaft so the line goes from the top to underneath the plastic and then the loose bot of line and then i had trouble feeding at the end of the tail because i found it ether kinks it or the hook isnt exposed....
