Attention All Stessl Owners!!!!!!!!

Was reading this on another forum (sorry ) And I thought all you Stessl owners would like to know. (I own a Quinny, but I looked at the Stessl range). http://www.ausfish.com.au/cgi-ausfis...num=1120887270 I haven't really read it all or done any research, but I hope this doesn't effect anyones warranty etc.

BUMP...

Can't believe no one has even made a comment. If I owned a Stessl I would be pissed. (definately not rubbing it in guys. Quite the opposite) Here is another link from the same web site with a few more posts on the subject. Stessl Gone Bust!!!!!!! Hope someone will at least comment on the situation and maybe a Stessl owner will fill us in on what's happening in W.A. as regards to warranty etc. Once again hope everything goes well for all you Stessl owners and don't let the bastards (I hope I can say that sorry if I can't) forget about their loyal customers just because they changed their name.

Regards Dave

I learnt early on in the piece that boat warranties are worth squat. Well i wouldnt say exactly squat, but with the amount of customising that most breamers do to their boats, just about anything voids the warranty.
Case in point my own stessl came with some dodgy welds, so my own boat builder fixed them. Bad move just voided my warranty. Build a live well, or decking that is in any way attached to the hull, bingo just voided your warranty.
So in this day of duck shoving blame, dont expect your boat warranty to be worth much anyway.
And i believe it to be the same with nearly all the boat builders.

The way I read it, the company has not folded. I believe Stessl were under voluntary admin in the first place.

Before we shoot of any further, I suggest people get in touch with the Stessl admin people and find out what IS going on.

Mako Craft (Stessl) would want to be going strong, I have not long ordered a boat from them. I think I might chase up a few answers 2morrow. From the link it read that Tim said if there was any problems just get in contact with him or the place you bought it from and it will be resolved.

I have had a 4.25 edgtracker for almost 2 years and am happy with it. I think the change has increased the number of models, which will be good. In a couple of years I would like to upgrade to the 480 or 520. It seems the only thing changed is the name.

Sorry to say Bear...they did go bust! To the tune $2 MIL!

The name Stessl, and all the designs, jigs and machinery was purchased from the recievers by the guy that built my boat, Brumb's Welding and Fabrication. He has bought it in collaboration with a trailer manufacturer, but I'm not sure which one.

I have spoken to him over the last couple of days as he is doing some work on my boat, and the issue of warranty on Stessl boats has copped a mention. His purchase of Stessl holds no obligation for him to warrant any Stessl/Clark hulls he didn't build!

BUT ...He will not be turning everyone away. He will access each claim on it's merits and try and help if possible!

I have also heard mention that Tim Stessl will still honour the warranties on their old hulls! But I have no way of confirming that.

I hope this helps to alleviate any stresses Stessl owners may have been feeling.

To all the Stessl owners out there. I Tim Stessl would like to set the story straight about my farther Alf Stessl and his old company S& B manufacturing pty ltd. (Stessl & Clark) Yes it was put into liquidation and sold by the liquidators- S.V. Partners of Brisbane to C&S marine craft pty ltd. After speeking with his family and his doctor who treated him for Cancer 18 months ago, Alf decided that the Stress on his health and his family was to great and resigned him to the loss of his company Stessl & Clark Boats and too not contest the decision of the liquidators S.V. Partners. The Patened hull designs where not owned by S&B Manufacturing pty ltd. and I have acquired the rights to the patened hull designs that are now being manufactured by my own company Mako Craft. I can not speek for the new owners of Stessl & Clark and what they will do with any warrantys that might be a problem, but as far as I know there is no current outstanding warranty claims as they were all fixed up before my father finished at Stessl & Clark Boats. I can tell you that we have had very few genuine warranty claims in the last couple of years since we introduced the new hulls that have gone on to win lots of Boat of the year awards!! I do all the boat shows around the country and you hear all types of Bull S#@T storys about boats cracking etc. As a fellow Fisherman all I can say is that with all these false stories going around about this boat and that company etc. It is just turning more people away from fishing boats and into caravans and motor homes etc. We need more people to buy fishing boats and the gear that goes with it. In stead of turning them away from this great past time of fishing in which I love. Rember the more people into fishing the cheaper the prices of boats etc. will get as we will have better buying power. You don't want the boat manufactures going over to China where we can get all types of Govement Grant from them, whitch means more Aussies will lose there jobs. I am happy to reply any questions you might have in regards to this matter. You can contact me thru www.makocraft.com.au, then click on the contact us page. I am glad we can all put this to bed and all move on with our lives and go and catch some trophy fish. Yours in boating Tim Stessl / Mako Craft

Thanks Tim for the great reply. Great to see you setting the record straight. It's nice to hear from people like yourself and know that what is going on in the real world doesn't go unnoticed. As the person who started this post I hope no feathers were ruffled as that was not the intention. Hope all goes well in the future with the new business.

Regards Dave
