Hey guys, I have been working on a new knot for ya'll to try out, it's basically a sebile knot but much easier and has no chance of slipping, and allows you to get maximum tension on your wraps, so you don't have to pull it tight so much. It will also help immensely with tying to light leader, as long as the line is thinner than your leader it will work, so you might have trouble getting fireline, fins etc to take hold if tying to 4lb. The only other downside is that you need a rod holder and you will lose a bit of braid. I'm better at explaining stuff with pictures so I drew it on paint lol.
Firstly, you will need to put your rod in a holder/crack in the couch/mates hand and run your main line all the way through, and tie it off to either a snapper lead/your toe/tackle box handle. Wind your line up so there's a fair bit of tension on your line, and put your leader next to your line on the side closest to you with about 10cm tag to the right. Wrap your tag down and around your main line and pull it tight, then up and around and pull tight, making sure to always wrap the tag around behind your mainline. Repeat these wraps 15-30 times depending on the line, more if you feel it's necessary. Once you've done the wraps I like to finish it off by pinching the wraps near the end nice and snug to the main line and whilst pulling the knot away from your rod to keep tension, take the tag of your braid (cut the part that's tied to your tackle box/foot /sinker to give yourself something to work with) and do one half hitch around the main line, 5-10 around both main line and leader and then a few more just around the main line, and obviously pull everything tight before you trim your tags. I then like to glue my half hitches just to keep them in place, make sure not to glue the wraps though.
