CCD,

I could go a certate but I want something to match the colours, i get picky like that. Ive got a new certate sitting around so i might sell that for the presso.

Rocksy,

Yeah mate unfortunately I realise that, might just have to look after it though like i do with all my reels anyway. Generally speaking the only water that gets on the reel is from the line, if I clean up around where the line touches it should be fine. I certainly wont be wading with it or anything in salt water, so it should be safe.

theyre worth $10,000 because theyre so awesome, but daiwa are nice and the rrp is only around $700, so as you can see, we the customers get the best out of it all

( tricking yourself is the best way to buy things cheap )

Plano 3714 - quite hard to get cheap!

I've got 2 laying ready for melting the slits for the hooks... can't wait to get it over and done with - it'll save so much space!!! not very chubby friendly though

G, mate you have it really bad

Tell me you haven't lived off two minute noodles for a week to be able to afford the bling

I did that once

Do you have a blog or something? I'd love to read your tackle reviews and of course look at the shiny porno

nah mate dont have a blog but will be starting one soon now that my main fishing forum has closed.

I dont have to live off 2 minute noodles ( although I love doing it anyway, haha), but I work 4 times a week and am still living at home, so I save a fair bit over a month or two. Add that to not spending money on anything else and I can afford my addiction pretty well

I would go the normal presso, not the imprimi.

The exist is a tad too expensive, plus I dont reckon the green on the native would go too well with orange. The main thing im really thinking about though is 1000 size reels. i reckon they will be too small, or look really weird on a 7'2"rod, but then again i just never have used the 1000 sized reels because theyre just so tiny

its not about the size its about the weight. if those rods are designed with the weight of the imprimi in mind go from there, a 160 gram 1000 reel is 40 grams lighters than the smallest certate

it is about the size for my personal preference though. Same with the 35mm handle, its tiny!

The rod isnt designed for the imprimi, the imprimi is heavy as crap for such a small reel, but then again, I dont reckon its made for the presso either because 165 grams is too light. its slightly but heavy with a 2508 steez on it, so a reel around 180 grams would be absolutely perfect.

Anyway, im gonna start heading down mate, itching to get out, haha. See you soon

Am I the only one who doesn't like the turning circle of tiny reels? For me they're too tight, and I'm often left with a sore wrist, cramped fingers... hard to convince the Mrs of the causation

Very nice G-Factor. I'd go for an Exist 1003 or 2004, Exist Native Custom 1003, Cardiff Area 1000PGS, Cardiff C2000HGS or a 2010 Stella 1000PGS or C2000HGS. None of the reels really match in terms of colour, but its all about the performance right?

haha, well yes performance comes first but I would like it to match.

Out of curiosity, how come you dont recommend the presso?
