Australian Production K2 with Ti Torzite/TVS Seat

Something that's been stewing for a while but here it is:

The Skunkworks Tarakan complete with Supertuned Emeraldas 2506.

Based off the lightest, most sensitive and unfortunately the most expensive blank available. The Phenix K2, 7'1" 3-10lb 1/32-1/4oz. A very conventional fast taper like a DSR only much lighter and more sensitive.

To maintain that wonderful crispness yet not compromising on ability to pass leader knots, Fuji's 2014 Titanium Torzite K guides in a configured for light braid + FC leader.

Using the Fuji's newest TVS seats designed to allow ease in having a finger or thumb on the blank.

Vibrations from the blank are transferred from the blank straight to the Titanium seat tube to assist with reverb and maximize contact to hand via the seats to large contact windows.

A full EVA grip for ease of cast single and double handed.

Lastly, it can be configured with a choice of two butts, a thin lightweight butt for a neutral balance and as pictured here a solid butt for a rear biased distribution favoured for drop shots and shaky head. Total weight of 98g in the neutral balance config.

Together with the M1 Carbine on the Alphas Super Finesse, putting together this pair have been an amazing process thanks to the following pals:

Chris Short, ( Tarakan Dev )
Josh Schleusener, ( M1 Carbine Dev)
Ian Shields ( Alphas Super Finesse )
Dr. Martin Wen-Yu Lo, JPL. (Advice on measurements, maths and fancy lubrication for the reels)
( Yes, same name as me, different person and about 30X smarter.)

As this thread is more about the looks, will start a new thread under Skunkworks Rods under the Rods section tonight. Cheers

For such an expensive rod, I would have thought that the proper hook keeper is warranted (unless it is not visible on the photos)?

Cheers

Thanks, I intend to put a short guide up in regards to using more exotic lubricants. And thanks again in regards to the rod. I wasn't sure what opinions would be regarding its looks as I paid no considerations to its aesthetics.

I better leav the Q&A for the post in Rods section. But, I don't like them.

Balanced, billet handle.
TSI/WS2 treated internal BB,
Ceramic line roller BB,
pinion, main, worm, pawl all TSI/WS2 treated

Difference is reduced wobble,
Ease of startup, efficiency under load.
If water does intrude all treated services repel water rather than mix into the usual whit milky water/oil mix.

That's about it.

I might add a washer to the drag so pressure winds on quicker and add carbontex in the future but the oiled felt just feels awesome so far.
