Yes it looks great! No where did i say it doesn't look pretty. Megabass basically don't put a foot wrong style wise so Im not policing bling.

But its still just a caldia with a spray tan and some costume jewllery.

None of the mb reels are just flat out production daiwa reels with shiny bits, they're just built with daiwa parts. The exist shares its body and rotor with the caldia as well, so who's to say it's not just an exist without a few unecessary bearings?

I get it now, start with an exist, turn it into a boat anchor, paint it black then sell it for less than an exist?

The funny thing is though. Even if it's a black Caldia i don't care. They are about $200 from Japan anyway. So add a $120 spool and a $80 handle. Totally worth it IMO. They look sick....

In other news, I got a new Certate. They ain't far behind a new Exist IMO, if at all. I have both.

Megabass Placebo...... lol but some truth in it.

I have played with a couple of MB reels out of the box and they didn't feel that good.

They're a bit of a mixed bunch to say the least. Some of them are on par with a mid level daiwa with an exist price tag, eg: luvito, racing condition, some are better than anything daiwa has to offer and yet are cheaper than their flagship, eg: lin 258, renlli, caiyen.

Super value when you add it up for sure. What about the certate.. How far ahead of the old certates are the new ones?

Hard to say. I'd say they are very similar. I've had 2010 Certates before but I don't have one right now to use side by side with the new Certate. The New Exist is obviously lighter and has more blingy bits but I'd say they would have the same internal parts.

The main thing I notice with the new Exists/Certates is the drags are much better IMO. They are very, very good. They are a step up from any other reels, you can really feel the difference. They feel more refined, much more a finesse feel.
