Both of those are not needed when I blade as a majority of blades I use are tiny being sub 40mm and over big open terrain where the blade has heaps of weight in itself to suffice for casting ability. I see you wearing a Lureandfly shirt so i'm sure you're familiar with most of their stuff! The boys explained it best with stick minnows, fish will suck them in, try to spit them out then get those tiny trebles caught in their mouths in the process, they describe it like getting bubble gum in you're hair... you just can't get it out, hence why i'm not a big fan of those ZX assist hooks. So no need for the no stretch with braid to set the hook, play your drag right feel the weight and away you go.

I don't throw blades at structure or near any type of structure, i'm no good at it so I don't do it so I don't need the braid! I don't need the low stretch to feel bites because honestly even with braid I noticed 95% of the time on the next hop I feel the weight of the fish! i'm terrible at noticing bites because my eyes are buggered lol.
Thanks mate! Was just curious that's all, now I think of it pretty much all the fish i've caught on blades/vibes have been when I lift for the next hop and there has been a fish there. Cheers!

some new toys ive recently added to my arsenal. first up is the 6wt loop evotec rod i scored from this site, its paired up with a ross reels evolution LT with 6wt sinking line. gonna use it on salmon, trevs, lake trout etc.

second is the samuari 302 and a 2508 spool for the exist i already had. they are now married and has become my dedicated jew'n stick. christened it one last week and it was magic, running a fresh load of 16lb megabass dragoncall on it too...
