It is recycled paper indeed. There are words on the box stating that.

Daiwa did give us pretty packages. I think one example is the TD-ito. Some models even include reel cover, tools, reel oil etc.

The latest model that I bought is a Zillion J-Dream. I bought it last year and I was surprised that for a 45,000yen reel it included NOTHING except a paperwork. Though I don't use those included reel oils at all, but this makes me feel that they are trying to cut cost everywhere.

Yer I also noticed that my steez EX came with the super thin bearing oil and a reel cover but I had to buy a reel cover for my j dream I use the bearing oil from my steez on my j dream also this is fine right?
I only use it on the bearings as it states.

why would you risk putting your fishing gear on stone or concrete? That is inviting disaster and scratching your reel no matter how careful you are.

She's right mate. Scratching it no matter how careful you are??? Hmmm I think not.

More likely to get scratched while I'm out bashing through blackberries or falling over in the mud.

No worries those reel oils are alright. I just have other lower viscosity oil for spool bearings.

Otoshi, yes they will catch barra, but they will also fall apart easily.
