Broken bling! The squid hunting machine is down!

Rear ended on Christmas night, pain has finally left my system this morning... Worse then it looks.

Hey guys thought i would post up some pics of a custom i had built for my ryoga 1016 by Alan Leahey (python keeper).

Alan and i decided to go for a stealthy no frills look to suit the understated charm of the ryoga 1016.

The battle scarred Ryoga sitting atop its new home.
Note the skeleton reel seat.

All black bindings with ti sics from top to bottom.

Carbon fibre matagi butt cap.

Alan liked the stealthy look so much that he decided not to put a decal or any decoration on the blank.
The sanded finish of the hm-mhx blank looks so good that no decal or decoration is needed imo.

This rod was built for the purpose of throwing soft plastic swim baits at jacks and other hard fighting structure dwelling estuary critters. The day i received this rod i had the chance to test it out on its intended species and within 12 hours of picking it up it had 4 jacks to its name including savage 53cm fish that was pulled from some pretty gnarly territory as well as a bit of by catch and a monumental bust up that left me shaking and alan laughing on the floor of my boat. I am happy to report that the blank choice and rod is perfect for this type of fishing and i couldn't be happier with the overall look and performance of this rod.

Cheers Kyle.

Nice pics Tug,

Glad you are happy with the rod, I reckon it matches that reel perfectly.
Was great to see it in action on a few solid jacks the other night, that bust up was a laugh, you got owned big time.....

Cheers,
Al
