Hard to tell from the pics but it looks about right. What are you intending on using it for? Nice combo too btw.

golden perch and hopefully also a light cod combo never caught either of those fish but should be able to get a bunch this coming year

Are there any real non-cosmetic different between new and old steez bc reels ?

it's got newer drag i think they say the body is completely different (yer umm..) can get it in higher gear ratios could be a few other differences too can't remember

Nah mate that will be fine. Just start practice casting with some lures and the controls fairly high until you get the hang of things. Once you get the hang of it you won't want to use spin gear as often due to the accuracy and increased feel when fishing. With casting cast with one fluid motion, that's one of the more helpful tips I came across

cheers mate had a cast in the backyard with a hookless oargee the reel is awsome even with the brake on full I was getting good distance and accuraccy was really fun to can't wait to give it a go on the goldens this sunday

I have one, but it's a Tinnie and Tackle Show special, not worthy of such company!!

I cast a de-hooked lure at a bucket with it.

The wishlist is still long.
Jigging, more light gear and more medium gear... And maybe another GT setup....

They used to be on the other side but after one session getting used to a left hand retreive, I havent looked back.
