What are you planning on matching to the SJR? I'm a bit curious about it. What sort of action has it got?

well its like only 74grams! and im thinking a luvias in a 2000 or smaller. its just so light i havnt actually fished with it yet. i was just reading a post about the IMX by joelozzy and then saw it on ebay the next day and thought yeah why not. what do you think for a 5'4" 2-6lb rod?

G.Loomis DSR820S GLX 4-8lb Stella 2500 FE with bassart handle

G.Loomis SMR913S Bronzeback 10-17lb Certate 3500

G.Loomis SJR6400 IMX (no reel as yet)

i cant really say i go out and target a certain species with a certain setup i just use what i feel like using like the bronzeback is great but its to heavy compared to the others so its not very good for flicking with all day so... when i say heavy 700grams is what i mean compared to the 450gram stella dropshot combo. if you understand what im saying? haha

id describe the BSR852 as being a realy stiff feeling rod liek you pick it up and imediatly think wow theres hardly any whip in this rod its like you have a broom handle in your hand haha but obviously its really light! um as for how much weight you can cast with it i wouldnt go casting i ounce jig heads with it but 1/2 ounce should be fine like it says 3/8ths is the max but pfffttt to that lol! 8 -14 id say go the NRX as its lighter and stronger than the GLX but is rated the same and im sure you could sneak in the extra 2lbs with ease? there are guys on here that use there DSR820S GLXs as 10Lb setups even though ts 2lbs over what im saying is im sure you wouldnt notice the difference between a 6-12 and 8-14lb rod maybe only in your mind! bute yeah man as for how the rod is you can load them up on to pretty big stuff like 20 odd kilo eagle DohDohDohDoh :\ i havnt caught a fish worth mentioning other than a 2.5ish KG salmon on it.. and the eagle ray but i think you would be happy im sure joelozzy still has his and i think mattjorg has the NRX version holla at them maybe?

hahaha great you just made me think im the biggest spastic lol i chuck 5inch gulps with my Dropshot most of the time with 1/4 jigheads.
hah yeah they should make me a rep tell me about it! fine man2500 3000 perfect ive been told i oversize my reels on my rods but whatever they feel great to me and balance out i like the grip on these rods aswell as you can have you index finger on the blank and just feel everything if thats your thing anyway! i think Loomis make a SJR872 or somthing in 8-14lb but dont quote me
but the grip would be different on it

Question for ya? Why have you got the slower ratio fd with the heavier rod?, also the paddle handle of the fd is that better than the t on the fe, I would think the fe with the t handle and faster ratio would go better on the bigger setup?
Did you get the bass art handle cause you didn't like the t?
What Do you reckon?

haha
ooo good question nah the FD was bought because of my branzino being temporarily down for the count thats why its on the BSR and i really wouldnt notice the difference all that much maybe if i like really thrashed them all day every day i might but ive noticed the difference x ship makes
as for the paddle tail i normally try and stay away from stock standard handles so at some stage when im not focused so much on the Defence force ill buy a handle for it.. the FE has a Bassart handle on it i posted pics in the 190 ish pages of it more clearly i think i just put the FE on the dsr coz i use the DSR most of the time and enjoy fishing with it all day.
