Do you reacon shimano Australia will now be able to source me one as spare parts??? Since they now come standard with a reel marketed for Aus ?
Just a thought ...
Give Shimano a call and ask them. As for the online jap stores, PLAT has a range of Yumeya reel stands and some aftermarket reel stands to suit Shimano reels.

Tried plat and the only ones they have are the titanium Stella ones. And they are to much.
I'll give shimano a bell tomorrow.

well I thought I would because this is where you put all your mid-high class reels and I thought since you guys have some realy good reels you would know what to do... I didn't want to make a new thread so I put it here.

Thanks for the help and I will make sure to dip it into some fresh water as it was fully submerged in salt/brackish water (but only for a split second)

doesn't matter how long it was under for mate salt water immersion will happen almost instantly!

Rinse your reel and clean your oil seal system as the washer is porous and will absorb salt water, when id dries the salt crystals will destroy your reel!

If you know what your doing or know how the gears and cams in the reel work then pull it down' soak the reel in CLR to clean it.

Replace or flush and repack your bearings(only repack if they aren't sealed, if they are sealed they will evenlually need replacing)
Re assemble the reel once dry but make sure you go over everything with a soft clean lint free cloth as no salt what so ever can stay in your reel other wise it will eventually destroy itself...

If you can't do this just keep flushing it out i'd suggest at least 15-20 times and allow it to dry. If it feels grindy either send it to daiwa or pull it down yourself as this will be your only alternative.

I tried taking it apart but I can't seem to get the thing that holds the spool off. It's a lot more complicated than your standard reel!! I think that I'll take it to freddy's as they "specialise" in daiwa reels

After gradually paying off this reel and rod I finally got them today. A shimano sustain 3000 and lox yoshi 1-3kg, they are awesome. They are getting matched with a Trion and Symetre or similar.
