Thanks, the only problem I have with spending money on combos is my Mum and Dad, they think I should only be spending $200 at the maximum on a combo, so it is extremely hard to be allowed to spend more, they get annoyed sometimes with most of my money going towards fishing.

Just waiting on one final thing to turn up before I do my bling update for the year. Daiwa has done bad things to me this year.

There has been sporadic updates on facebook but I think once I get this last bit of kit and spool it up I should do a group shot.

Black and Gold seems to be the theme this year.

Also, more and more circumstantial evidence seems to be pointing to a new Exist in the new year. If anyone has any word on it, spill your beans. If heard from quite a few sources that current model stock is being drawn down, no production of the current model is planned and given that reels such as the Morethan and Saltiga expedition are packing more tech than the exist I just can't imaging that there isn't something about to hit the market.

I know I've held off replacing my exists (pre 2012) with the 2012 exist just on gut feel.

Thoughts?

Missed the point G-man. I was going to move on all my exists and get the 2012 model. I did sell my 2506 and get the current 2506H and agree that it is a much better reel than the pre-2012 model. But I have held of doing the same for the 2004's because if there is an update to the 2012 model coming out in the next few months I would rather upgrade to that than the 2012 model.

Capisce?

Yep, same here mate. I still have my very first rod that my Dad brought for me when I was still a baby in nappies! Think I was about one or two.

This was for my 8th birthday.

It's amazing how little we've actually advanced considering it had a falling plate, external adjustable magbrake. 2speed, made in Sweden. Came with a matching 5'6" composite rod. It's funny how it took kingfish in '92 on 12lb mono yet nowadays we've moved to PE 2 and stonking "22lb" drags.

Maybe modern fish found steroids.
