Haha hey Chriso yeah mate I finally replaced all my rods. I havn't done much fishing over summer at all yet. Ready for it now though. We'll see how this weather holds out. If you're looking at picking one up the X-840 is really impressive.

They're better mainly because of the components. You're getting exactly what you want in a rod when you go a custom.

The loomis however are much lighter rods and I still consider the GLX Blanks to be the best on the market.

The rod is certainly a Shimano World Shaula - I needed a 2 piece for travelling, and thought I should try Shimano's best to go with the 2500HGS Stella. The lure is an ito-craft emishi. Very beautiful trout lures. I left one in the mouth of a big mahseer in Thailand. I managed to spend around $2000 just on lures in Japan and then Singapore.

The fish is the biggest spotted/spangled grunter I have caught. Very surprised - it fought like a tarpon!
