Out of curiosity, how come you dont recommend the presso?

Couple of reasons:

-On paper it is pretty much the same as a Luvias 1003, besides a tiny weight difference 165g vs 170g. Same bearing count, same gearing, same spool, different price tag.
-I am not a fan of the luvias reels or zaion based reels based on my own experiences. They just don't feel well made, the body is feels like plastic... probably because it is. I have felt many of them, brand new and used, and all of them were rubbish, geary and very unrefined.
-Many better reels for the same price, a presso will set you back 34000YEN (from digitaka).

If I were in your shoes, I would seriously be considering the new 2011 Twinpower with XSHIP. Not the fanciest looking reels, but its a lot of reel for the money.

1000S, 1000PGS, 2000S, C2000S or C2000HGS would be a good match on your rod. At that price, it is hard to beat considering they are pretty damn close to the 2010 Stella, which is apparently the bees knees from what I have heard from a few owners.

Steez are pretty cheap to get. $575 delivered At that price, can't justify getting anything else.

I have the old style daiwa silvercreek presso and it is deffinatly fresh only. And i thought the new cheap imprimi is not advertised as fresh only either

i have a Presso 1003, use in salt water all the time. Had is serviced no signs of corrosion. Fresh water only (bools.h.i.te)
