Hi All,
My two cents worth again - just to clarify some issues and concerns. Tobymcclure - with so many good second hand used US bassboats here in Australia now starting from mid 20k's - is it worth going through all the hassle to get one over from the states? For example I have a 2010 ZX190, Etec 150HO with 100 hours use, Easytow trailer with all the trimmings for sale for 38K! Trust me I do this for a living and move over 100 boats a year from there - it is not easy and there will be more costs which you dont get told about, but you can do it for sure as people know. Sometimes it works out and other times it does not and people get stranded - you dont often here the horror stories because people are too embarrased to say, but let me tell you I do hear them from time to time. Skeeter - we here at Skeeter Australia are the Australian distributor for this brand that handles all sales, warranties, import approval and everything in regards to running a day to day business including customer service. We have a full range of parts for every model we have sold and generally can ship parts same day. If you want to ship a new Skeeter from a dealer in the USA, you can but without warranties or anything is it worth it. Dealers in the USA are not permitted to do this and in their contracts it can lead to having Skeeter taken away from them. Our deals are super attractive with all the Australian trimmings and fittings you require to make the boat perfect for here in Australia. I know a major tackle supply company here in Australia that crushed $760 000.00 worth of goods that we being imported illegally into Australia by another company with the intent to resell. Free trade agreement - this has nothing at all to do with the import of goods between manufacturer and supplier - that is incorrect information. Free trade agreement is defined as removing import duites betwen these two countries. Before this came into affect 2008 from memory we had to pay a 5% import duty on boats. With the Free trade agreement this was abolished, but there are still other taxes to pay on new or used products. Phoenix Boats - yes we are the Australian distributor for the Phoenix Brand of boats also and we have imported the boats for Kris, Steve and Tristo now along with another one for another customer. The boats are great and offer a different boat to those who wish for something other than a Skeeter. We use Australian made easytow trailers under all these hulls also. Easytow make simply the best trailers for Australian conditions! Full stop! Just for your information we are a small company specialising in unique products for bassboats, we currently import a number of brands and products for bassboats that include PowerPole, Lithionics Batteries, hamby's Keel protector, Outboard Motor Centering Clips, Coolfoot and Bassboat Saver. We aim to be the place to go here in Australia for all those cool things bassboat wise Anyways I hope I have shed a little light and some truths on the situation and as always please feel free to call to discuss Kind regards, Josh 0408 621 426 |
