The short accessory lead coming off the base of the motor should have a cap on it that you can unscrew and connect a foot pedal to. I run a 40amp blade fuse and have never had a drama with it blowing. I chose 40amp so it is theoretically the weakest link and will pop before anything in the motor goes if there was a wiring issue.
