i couldnt get any straight answers from dealers (suprise suprise ) so i talked to 6 local marine mechanics in the brisbane area. They universally agreed e-tecs were horrible 2 even refused to work on them. Consensus was brilliant marketing very good performance horrible reliability horrible lifespan cheaply made.
Suzuki was actually the most reccomended engine amongst the mechanics followed by tohatsu.
