OMG daiwa harriers are only $330

I thought they'd be like $700 any thoughts

yakkindan 10-09-2012 09:55 AM

My thoughts are I need the heavier one!!!!! Great price

redfinfisho 10-09-2012 10:00 AM

I love how they look great but are at a sensible price my guess is they are a blinged up black lable but black lables are great and I'd pay a little extra for the bling :p I think a steez 2508 will suitt nicely been ages since i got a combo.

I think daiwa have hit the price bracket very well this year.
I already have a rod in this lb range but if,
I was after that lb spec it would already be on
Its way to me the 6,10 model
The 6,4 sounds very interesting

redfinfisho 10-09-2012 10:15 AM

im gonna grab a 10lb 6'4"

Herp Affinity 10-09-2012 05:20 PM

They look amazing and I thought they would be a lot more than $330 odd. Having said that there is no reason they should be any more than that. The specs are identical to the black label technical with more bling. I have the 10lb 6'4" model black label and it's the perfect rod for soft plastics around heavy structure. I also use mine in the yak for bass fishing casting at snags. I have found its not the greatest for small HBs w/ st36 size trebles as they pull easily.

Where did you see that????

Ado 10-09-2012 06:43 PM

Yep, without a doubt a beautiful rod. Don't forget for the same price you can get a specialist bream that have SVF blanks and K Sic's. Harriers are packing HVF and no K guides. I'll hopefully be ordering a 672 today to put daiwa's quote to the test "yet it's low down power will muscle just about any fish from its lair" for 1-2kg rod? We will see about that! Lol

If only they weren't all 2pce! Let us know what you think of it when it arrives.

Cheers.

Id like the 6'4 Harrier for Bass fishing around structure in dams. Most bass we get are of a decent size. Id mostly be casting lures around 9g to 13g. Can anyone advise if this rod would do this well ? On paper it seems to have the right specs.

Herp Affinity 11-09-2012 02:01 AM

If its anything like the black label (same same) it will be (is) perfect for bass.

Shauno 11-09-2012 03:12 AM

very very fast...

somewhat stiff too from what I remember feeling them..

starc contrast to a B'Label for those who suggested that...

Bentley 11-09-2012 04:53 AM

I assume people are suggesting the Harriers are the same as the Black Label Technicals because the specs read very close. Even the write up about them are similar. The difference in specs is the taper with the Harrier xxx fast and the black Label x fast.

Shauno you have had a play with both? or anyone else ?

It sounds like what iam after because I dont want anything too flimsy. The tip needs to be reasonably firm to accurately throw lures like Jackall TN60's which weigh about 12g.

I've ordered one. The 6'4'' 4-10lb model, should have it a week or so hopefully!
